Mahabharata described in the best possible way
Kurukshetra has absolutely original characters and powerful dialogues. All the episodes have amazing attraction which keeps you glued to your seat and at the same time, Mahabharata has been shown in a very good way in this movie. If you know even a little about Mahabharata then you will like this movie very much.
It should have been released in theatres.
After Mahavtar Narasimha, there has been such a boom in the animation film industry that now even the makers have started realizing that no matter how old the content is, better films can be made by using animation and VFX and they are also succeeding in bringing the audience to the theatres, a living example of this is Mahavtar Narasimha which without any star cast, crossed the mark of 300 crores and if Kurukshetra had been released in theatres, it would have also been a blockbuster.
Religion should not be made a joke
This excellent animated film doesn’t mock religion at all. Unlike the Bollywood film “Ramayan” starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, which heavily exploited religious sentiments, there’s none of that in this one. Absolutely clean and elegant, this film is a perfect family watch.
All the characters are realistic and have great emotions.
Kurukshetra, released on Netflix, is a short 25-minute episode with excellent animation and a good blend of facial expressions, and ample detailing on all the characters. Shakuni Mama and Guru Dron seem absolutely alive. Each episode is thoroughly entertaining, with the Abhimanyu episode being the best, and you’ll likely feel a little emotional.

This film takes you straight to the battlefield where the great war between the Kauravas and the Pandavas was fought for 18 days continuously. This film shows the conflict going on in the minds of those warriors, how they fight for Dharma with their own brothers and how Lord Krishna guides Arjun. This film has a rating of 8.6 in IMDB which is a proof of its popularity.
Powerful voiceover and amazing background music
The film uses next-level animation and powerful background music that gives you goosebumps in every episode, especially when Shri Krishna shows his fierce form, you will automatically join hands. If this had been released in theatres like Mahavatar Narasimha, people would have been seen joining hands in saluting Shri Krishna.
Haha, absolutely spot on about Kurukshetra being a perfect family watch – my cat fell asleep during the Abhimanyu episode, proof of its universal appeal! 😼 The animation is so top-notch, Shakuni looked like he was about to whisper my secret password. And yes, while it might not have a 300 crore budget like some others, it successfully avoids turning religion into a Bollywood soap opera, which is quite the achievement. IMDB rating 8.6? Must be because people are genuinely goosebumps-overlord about the VFX. Though, honestly, I think my Roomba has more dynamic action sequences these days.
