His first film was “punadirllu” but his real debut film was in 1978 with “Pranam Kharidam” and he got recognition from “Manavuri Pandavulu”. His real name is Konidela Shiv Shankar Prasad. He was born in a simple constable family in Mogalturu village of Andhra Pradesh. He was fond of films so he went to Chennai and on his mother’s advice he kept his name as “Chiranjeevi” which means “Long Age”.

Sets Guinness record for performing over 24,000 dance moves
Chiranjeevi’s dancing skills are unmatched. He gave dance a prominent place in his films and provided opportunities to many choreographers. He set a Guinness record by performing more than 24,000 dance moves in 537 songs during his career. Guinness also recognized him as the actor with the most potential in Indian cinema.

His film career started in 1978 with “Pranam Kharidam” which is still continuing, after his film “Vishambhara” the shooting of Anil Ravipuri’s film “Man Shankar Varaprasad” is going on, which will be released on Sankranti in 2026.
